National Black Baby Loss Awareness Week (Oct. 17-23)

Writer's picture: Tieree ReidTieree Reid

Losing a baby due to pregnancy or delivery complications is tragic. For minority families, the pain of losing a loved one can be exacerbated by systemic racism, prejudices, implicit bias, microaggressions, and other forms of oppression. Black women and babies are dying at alarming rates that are much higher than other populations.

NBBLAW is a time for us to come together and provide a safe space for individuals and families who have experienced the loss of a baby in pregnancy or infancy.
