POSTPARTUM PLAN

To support new parenthood and postpartum recovery, it's essential for expecting parents to collaborate with their healthcare providers to create a comprehensive postpartum care plan, as recommended by ACOG. This plan should address emergency contacts and strategies for physical, emotional, and mental well-being, with guidance available from ACOG to optimize postpartum care. Healthcare professionals can empower new parents by providing a postpartum plan template and implementation guidance. ACOG advises that women have contact with their obstetric care providers within the first 3 weeks postpartum, followed by ongoing care as needed, culminating in a comprehensive postpartum visit by 12 weeks after birth.
