Maryann Chimhanda, MD, MS, FACOG
Maryann Chimhanda, MD, MS, FACOG is an assistant professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM). Dr. Chimhanda is a graduate of the Master of Science in Medical Science (MSMS) program and Doctor of Medicine (MD) program both at IU School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.

Dr. Chimhanda spent almost a decade in Kokomo, IN providing comprehensive OBGYN services before joining IUSM in June 2020. Dr. Chimhanda was selected as the curricular thread director responsible for addressing racism and promoting care for the black community and this position is supported by the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Primary Care Reaffirmation for Indiana Medical Education (PRIME) grant. She is also a member of the Indiana Maternal Mortality Review Committee under the Indiana Department of Health.

Adriena Beatty, MD
Dr. Adriena Beatty is a devoted wife, mother, and daughter. Her devotion to her family is what motivates her daily to be a better person. She is an Army Veteran that has practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for over 15 years. She graduated from Tuskegee University with a degree in chemical engineering and chemistry. She is a Certified Physician Executive and has a master’s degree in Business Administration. She has a passion for education and philanthropy, which is why she has started Let’s Talk with Dr. B. Let’s Talk with Dr. B is an educational series for young girls, teenagers, and women regarding their bodies and women’s health. Let’s Talk with Dr. B is a platform that makes medicine easy to understand.

Brenda Graves-Croom
Brenda Graves-Croom is a licensed social worker (LSW) specializing in depression, anxiety, and trauma and serving a diverse clientele, including people of color and immigrants, at Catalyst Counseling in Indianapolis. Brenda is the former Health Equity Director for the Division of Mental Health & Addiction with the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration. She is a past President, VP, and Secretary of the Mental Health of America Hendricks County Board of Directors. Brenda is a former Commissioner for the Indiana Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs and the Interagency State Council on Black & Minority Health. Brenda earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Sociology and Spanish from Indiana University. She earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in mental health and addiction from Indiana University School of Social Work.

Shanea Angrick
The Little Timmy Project BIPOC Doula Scholarship recipient, founded by the Care Foundation.

Shanea worked in healthcare as a medical assistant and computer informatics for 15 years
before retiring to pursue her dream of being a yoga teacher and doula. She is a firm believer in
diversity, equality, and inclusivity, especially in the yoga community and healthcare. She
completed her Full Spectrum Doula training with Mama Glow, Best Doula, and additional doula
training with Birthing Advocates.
Shanea is a Doula focusing on serving low-income parents, LGBTQ+ non-binary communities, non-binary families, adoptive parents, postpartum care after losing a child, and doula support before, during, and after an abortion. She has additional certifications in queer, non-Binary, and transgender reproductive and abortion support. Shanea is the founder of Ace of Pearl Yoga Initiative; a non-profit focused on bringing yoga to BIPOC, LGBTQ+, low-income, and other underserved communities to help them on their healing journey. The owner of Ace of Pearl Health and Wellness. Shanea is on the board of the Little Timmy Project. Shanea is a domestic violence and sexual assault survivor advocate for
the Children’s Bureau of Indianapolis.

Charity Bean, SRN, CMA, CNA
Charity Bean, is a future Registered Nurse, certified full-spectrum doula, medical assistant, nurse assistant, and student at Chamberlain College of Nursing. She has thirteen years of experience as a frontline worker in primary care, trauma, emergency room, birthing, patient care, and psychiatric care. In 2020, Bean founded Doula Bean Maternal Care, LLC to educate, advocate, and empower every birthing mom, no matter race, gender, or financial class. Bean is an avid community activist and servant leader. She strives to end social injustices through conscious and strategic advocacy for Black Lives Matter and an end to the Black maternal health crisis.

Janeva Mims
Janeva Shaw is a full spectrum doula, trained and certified through Doula Training International. Janeva's 10-year background in social work has prepared her to provide advocacy, resources, and support to the families she serves.
In 2018, one of her close friends almost died after giving birth to her son. Her friends' near death and Janeva’s traumatic birth experience ignited her passion for maternal health. In 2021, she founded Tribe Doula and Family Services. (T)teach (R)reproductive justice, (I)inspire and improve (B)birth practices, and (E)educate families and the community.

Jasmine "Jay" White
Jay is a Holistic Full Spectrum Doula offering Care before, during, and after pregnancy. She offers doula training, mentorship, and holistic childbirth education. At ten years old, she began assisting the women close to her during birth and postpartum. Jay brings nine years of social work experience and trauma-informed care training, allowing her to listen, advocate, and provide wraparound support to her community.
In 2019, Jay founded Passionate Birthing Full Spectrum Doula Services. Assisting and serving families at home births and hospital births, virtual and in person, and creating herbal remedies that help heal throughout pregnancy and after birth.

Pageantry & Maternal Mental Health
Resha Woods-Sutherlin
Resha Woods-Sutherlin, mother, wife, beauty educator, civic leader, and public speaker is the first to hold the title of Miss Indy Juneteenth. Resha was crowned Miss Indy Juneteenth in 2021 and will crown the next Miss Indy Juneteenth on May 29th at the Marian University Theatre in Indianapolis.
Resha earned her Master of Business Administration and her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Indiana Wesleyan University. She received an American Sign Language associate's degree from Vincennes University at the Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis. Resha is the owner of Reona (Ree-OWN-Nuh) Rose Artistry and a beauty philanthropist who equips young Black women with tools to own their beauty in character, mental health, and style. She is, by all standards, a powerhouse and a pillar in her community.

Kristen Biehl
Representing Amos' Anchors and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep

Kristen Biehl is a mother of three living children, and she has five angels in Heaven. After losing Amos in May of 2018, she felt called to give back to the loss community. She founded AmosAnchors.org, a website that collates Indianapolis, National, and International grief support resources for families going through loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. Additionally, Kristen founded and began leading a subgroup of Hannah’s Wish titled Over the Rainbow: a support group for women pregnant or parenting after a loss. She also serves as a Caring Companion for St. Francis Indianapolis’ bereavement program and is an affiliate photographer for the national bereavement photography organization Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. In addition to her work in the bereavement community, she is the Chief Digital Marketing Officer, Social Media Manager, & photographer at Lalabye Baby, a modern cloth diaper company.
